April 14, 2015 – Ice update

Looks like the ice will be off the lake by the end of April this year.  To get a birds eye view of ice conditions on Lake of the Woods, check out this great website:  icepatrol.ca  All of the snow is now gone, so it's a great time to come look at mainland listings.  Looking forward to getting the boats in the water as soon as the ice is off.working

January 11, 2015

Happy 2015!  A recent cold snap has left us with good solid ice for the rest of the winter and now the weather forecast looks great for the rest of January, so you can bet there will be a lot of ice fishing happening.  This picture was taken just before sunset while driving on an ice road in Whitefish Bay. working

July 14, 2014 – High water

Lake of the Woods water level is the highest that it has been since 1950.  The forecast for the next week is for no change in the water level.  The reef marker in the photo sits on a pole that is about 3 feet long and at this time of year the top of the reef that it is marking is often just below the water line.   The second photo show the same marker in the spring. working
