Bruce and Jake: Thank you so much for all your help with listing and selling our island on Lake of the Woods. You both went above and beyond the call of duty to help us through the entire process. Your prompt attention to us and your friendly manner were a blessing. Cathy and I would highly recommend your services to anyone buying or selling property in the area. Thanks again.working
March 15, 2014 – Two seasons
Here is a look at the contrast between summer and winter. These pictures were taken on October 10, 2013 and March 8, 2014. You can find this spot on the Aspen Trails off of Dubois Road just north of Sioux Narrows.
March 12, 2014 – Google Maps
I can spend hours looking at Google maps and find it a great way to plan my next boat or snowmobile trip. Every once in a while the maps get updated and the map for Sioux Narrows is really neat right now - it has a boat going under the Sioux Narrows bridge leaving a very visible wake. Check it out here. While we are at, here are the links to Nestor Falls and Morson.working
March 7, 2014 – LOWDPOA
The Vision, Mission, and Values page over on the Lake of the Woods District Property Owners Association's website is outstanding. Their vision statement is powerful and one that I agree with, live by and promote as much as possible:
To preserve one of the most beautiful places on earth as a high-quality environment for future generations to enjoy.
Head on over to their Vision, Mission and Values page and check it out. While you are there check out the Living Green at the Lake and Links pages for lots of great info on how we can all do our part to ensure that this vision becomes reality.working
Sioux Narrows – Dreaming of open water
Its March 4th today, and there is a lot of snow on the ground and ice on the lake, but that doesn't mean we can't be dreaming of open water!
Winter solstice on Whitefish Bay
Here are few pictures from the Winter Solstice on December 21, 2013. These were taken from the north tip of Sioux Point overlooking Whitefish Bay. On December 21st we have about 8 hours and 34 minutes of daylight. Today on February 20th we are already up to 10 hours and 37 minutes, just over 2 hours more daylight. It is zero degrees here today, so I must be dreaming of spring.
January 7, 2014
Caught this sunset just at the right time! Can start to feel the days getting longer already.
November 26, 2013
Here are few photos from the last few weeks:
November 13th - The beautiful result of a strong west wind and freezing temperatures:
November 20th - Last boat ride of the year:
November 12, 2013 – Winter is coming
When ice starts to form on the beaches you know that soft water will soon turn to ice. Looking forward to doing some more incredible Lake of the Woods ice fishing this year.
Happy Thanksgiving, the fall colours have been so good the last few days I have been snapping photos like crazy.
