Beautiful 5-acre island property on Long Bay, Lake of the Woods. It is very easy to access this island, as there is a mainland landing 1 kilometer away from the island. This landing is on an Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources Land Use Permit.
Check protected docking and a place to swim off your list as both of these are in the secluded cove on the west side of the island. Jump off the dock and soak up the afternoon sun on the sand beach. With this purchase, you get ownership of the entire 5-acre island which has 2,230 feet of shoreline. The island is all low-profile, with a rocky shoreline. There are some old-growth white pines on the island.
There is a main cabin, bunkhouse, washhouse, and storage shed. The main cabin is made up of the original log cabin (529 sq. ft.) connected by a breezeway to a newer structure (400 sq. ft.) which serves as a kitchen/living room. Lots of time will be enjoyed in the large screened-in porch.
The washhouse has a shower, sink and flush toilet. There is a one-room bunk cabin. 10 x 12 ft. in size, as well as a 10 x 12 ft. storage shed.
There is a cribbed dock with a ramp to a floating dock. Just up from the dock is another storage shed.
Services include: Electricity is provided by a small solar system and a gas-powered generator. The solar system provides power for lights and a few outlets in the main cabin. A generator powers the water pump and cords can be run to one power outlet in the main cabin and one power outlet in the washhouse. Water is drawn from the lake with a jet pump, pumped to a water tower, and gravity-fed back to the sinks and shower. There are a propane cooking stove, lights, and hot water tank. There is a certified septic system.
